Five Lady Cougar Soccer Players Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. —  CoSIDA has announced its 2024 Academic All-District Team, recognizing five players from the Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's soccer team.

The 2024 Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team, selected by CoSIDA, highlights the nation's top student-athletes for excelling both on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program honors recipients across four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

Five MVNU players were recognized on the CoSIDA NAIA All-District Team for their exceptional performance in the classroom and on the field. Alexis Hoffman, Bekah Blair, Hannah Miller, Brooklyn Bryant, and Madison Turner earned this prestigious honor for their academic excellence and athletic achievements.

Junior forward Hoffman earned Crossroads League First Team honors, scoring nine goals with a .538 shot-on-goal percentage, ranking fourth in the league. She also registered two assists.

Junior goalkeeper Miller earned Crossroads League Honorable Mention honors after leading the league with 99 saves, an 80.5% save percentage, and seven shutouts.

Bekah Blair recorded four goals and two assists during her sophomore season. Bryant contributed two goals in her senior year, while Turner excelled academically and athletically in her final season with MVNU in the midfield.

To qualify for Academic All-District Team women's soccer student-athletes must compete in at least 90 percent of the institution's matches or start in at least 66 percent of them. Undergraduate student-athletes are required to maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale, while graduate student-athletes must also achieve a 3.50 GPA, both as undergraduates and graduate students, unless they are in their first semester of graduate studies without an established graduate GPA. The cumulative GPA must meet the 3.50 threshold exactly, as rounding is not permitted.
