Women’s Soccer Heads into Conference Play with 4-0 Win over Alma

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's soccer team (5-2) wrapped up its nonconference slate with a 4-0 win over Alma College (0-5) on Saturday, September 21.

MVNU got a quick start and never looked back, taking a 3-0 lead into the half. The Lady Cougars tacked on one more goal late off the foot of Brooklyn Bryant to finish off Alma.

Inside the Box Score:

MVNU dominated with 27 total shots with 13 of them being on goal. MVNU's defense was sturdy, allowing just 4 shots all game.

Hannah Miller got 2 saves in her 45 minutes of work. Freshman keeper, Jaden Pifher played the second half and kept a clean sheet, coming away with a save.

MVNU had lots of opportunities with corners, finishing the contest with 9.

 

What's Next:

MVNU will begin Crossroads League play on Wednesday, September 25 against the Lady Lancers of Grace College. Game time at CH4 is set for 7:00 p.m.
