Bio

Simon Taylor was named the head coach of the MVNU cross country programs on July 2, 2019, succeeding Chip Wilson as the second coach of the revived program.

Taylor spent two seasons as an assistant coach of the MVNU cross country and track and field programs under Wilson's leadership beginning in 2017. Taylor took the lead on recruiting for the program and stepped up his involvement with the program when Wilson was named Director of Athletics in December of 2018.

In addition to being head coach of the cross country program, Taylor is an assistant with the track and field program under Ellis Gallion's leadership.

Taylor is a graduate of MVNU, having earned his degree in 2017. Taylor joined the MVNU cross country program in college, and is a member of the inaugural track and field team when the program was revived in 2015. Taylor was a three-time recipient of the Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete award, and was also a three-time member of the Crossroads League Academic All-Conference team.
