MVNU Starts Season 2-0 at Big Sky Challenge

HELENA, Mo. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's volleyball team (2-0) began its season in Helena, Montana in the first day of the Big Sky Challenge, hosted by Carroll College on Friday, August 18.

MVNU made easy work of the hosts as it swept Carroll in the first match by scores of 25-16, 25-12, and 25-21. The Lady Cougars then defeated Rocky Mountain College, who is receiving votes entering the season, in four sets. After dropping the first set 22-25, MVNU rallied back to take the next three by scores of 25-17, 25-22, and 25-13.

Molly Galaszewski – Match-high 16 digs, 2 assists.

Reagan Nuss – Match-high 39 assists, 10 digs, 3 kills.

Faith Maloney – 11 kills, .391 hitting percentage.

Jaelyn Tang – 10 digs, 1 service ace.

Snouffer – 19 kills, 17 digs, 1 block.

Libby Evanshine – 13 kills, .325 hitting percentage.

Ashley Merrick – 12 digs.

Abbey Niemesh – 10 kills, 3 digs, 3 block assists.

 

What's Next

MVNU will wrap up the Big Sky Challenge in Helena, Montana on Saturday, August 19. The Lady Cougars play Bushnell (Oregon) and Warner Pacific (Oregon) at 11:00am and 3:00pm, respectively.
