MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. CoSIDA announced its Academic All-District Track & Field and Cross Country Teams and Mount Vernon Nazarene University had five members join the list of student athletes.

The 2023 Academic All-District Women's Track & Field / Cross Country Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

MVNU's academic honorees included sophomore Ellyn Coe, juniors Makayla Roberts and Maddie Kitchen, senior Morgan Forney, and grad-student Kaitlin Meade.

To receive the honor, an athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale, must have achieved sophomore status academically with at least one full year at their current institution.

Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 28.
