Lady Cougars Begin Outdoor Season

OXFORD, Ohio. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's track and field team competed at the Blizzard Buster, hosted by the Miami University on Friday, March 17. The Lady Cougars traveled in small numbers only bringing a few athletes to compete.

 

Top Performers

Lyssi Snouffer led the Lady Cougars on the day in high jump, winning the event. Snouffer was able to take down the school record by clearing a height of 1.55m.

Snouffer finished 15th in the open 400m dash as well with a time of 1:03.58. Ashley Burgess was not far behind taking home 17th in the event with a time of 1:03.69.

Maddie Kitchen claimed 20th in the 100m dash with a time of 13.17.

Burgess finished up the running events for the Lady Cougars in the 200m dash, finishing 11th with a time of 28.93.

Makayla Roberts took home 13th in the hammer throw with a heave of 37.96m. Roberts took 14th in shot put as well after completing a throw of 10.99m.

Gracelyn Frame finished 13th in shot put with a toss of 11.14m. Frame took 19th in the hammer throw with a distance of 34.71m.

 

Upcoming Events

The MVNU women's track and field team will compete at the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor Open, hosted by Cedarville University on March 25.
