
Lady Cougars Defeat Falcons
BOWLING GREEN, OHIO.- The Mount Vernon Women's Lacrosse team (10-2) beat Bowling Green Universities club team on Thursday, April 6th, 2023.
Mount Vernon Nazarene University came out strong at the beginning of their game against Bowling Green State University with two goals from Senior, Samantha Poor. Jessie Kyer and Karlee Whitesell were able to keep the ball on offense for most of the game by controlling 75 percent of the draw. Bowling Green was able to respond a few times in the first half after getting the ball in transition to earn 4 goals. The Cougars went into halftime on top with a score of 4-12. Going into the third quarter with a goal of having cleaner checks and more smooth transitions, the Cougars were able to add to their lead. The score was 5-16 to start the last quarter of play after two back-to-back goals from freshman Aubree Bailey. The Falcon's defense would continue to fall short, giving the Cougars 5 more goals in the fourth quarter to make the final score 7-21.
