MVNU Bowling Performs Well at Crossroads League Meet
ELKHART, Ind. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's and women's bowling teams competed in the Crossroads League Bowling Tournament No. 4 and Championship on Saturday, February 1.
The men's team placed fifth overall with a score of 4629. Wyatt Ary led the charge with a total of 176.67, which was good for 12th overall amongst varsity competitors. Jacob Burre was right behind Ary, placing 13th amongst varsity-eligible athletes with a total of 173. In the Crossroads League Championship following the Tournament No.4, MVNU made a run to the Championship round after defeating Huntington in the Semifinals. The Cougars fought valiantly, but ultimately would fall to Marian University, the regular season Crossroads League champions.
The women's team placed sixth overall on the day with a total score of 4025. Freshman, Kenzie Willoughby, earned All-Tournament honors after placing fourth amongst varsity level competition Willoughby rolled a 174 in the tournament for MVNU. Paige Hicks placed 20th out of the varsity competitors with a 147.33. In the Championship Tournament, MVNU would fall to Huntington University in the Semifinals.
