
MVNU Bowling Begins Crossroads League Play
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's and women's bowling teams began Crossroads League competition in the Crossroads League Bowling Tournaments 1 and 2 on December 1-2.
In the first tournament, MVNU's women placed sixth out of seven with a score of 5538. Hannah Vaughn led the women with a score of 757 and an average of 189.25, which was good for fourth overall in the tournament. Spring Arbor University won the first league tournament with a score of 6535.
The men placed seventh out of seven in the first tournament with a score of 5778 on the day, while Marian walked away victorious with a total of 7377. Alex Jawyn was the top finisher for MVNU at 36th overall with a score of 665 (166.3).
In the second tournament of the weekend, the women placed sixth again with a score of 5457. Spring Arbor won again with a final tally of 6249. Vaughn placed third for the Lady Cougars with a score of 753 (188.25).
The men improved a spot in the second tournament as they finished sixth with a score of 6040. Marian won with a final score of 7340. Jacob Burre led MVNU with a 24th place finish with a score of 726 (181.5).
