Guilliams’ Big Day Leads Lady Cougars to Victory

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's basketball team (12-7) hosted Clark State University and won by a final score of 100-48 on Monday, January 20.

MVNU started the game with an 18-0 run and never looked back. The story of the game was junior, Shalen Guilliams who erupted for 25 first-half points. Guilliams made her first six threes and finished 7-9 from beyond the arc going into halftime. At the break, MVNU led 52-25.

MVNU remained in control in the second half, dominating the third quarter 29-11. Guilliams finished the game with a career-high 34 points and 10 threes, which was two off of tying the program record set by Katie Keller in 2003. Overall, 10 different Lady Cougars scored in the 100-48 win in Ariel.

MVNU will head back into conference play on Saturday, January 25 against Spring Arbor University at 1:00 p.m.
