Women’s Basketball Stumbles at Spring Arbor
SPRING ARBOR, Mich.– The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's basketball team (7-13, 1-9) fell on the road at (RV) Spring Arbor University (17-3, 7-2) on Saturday, January 27 in the McDonald Athletic Center.
Following a competitive first quarter, MVNU found itself trailing 19-17. Spring Arbor turned up the pressure and dominated the beginning of the second quarter, opening with a 11-0 run. By halftime, the score stood at 39-23 in Spring Arbors favor. Despite playing it nearly even in the second half, the poor second quarter was too much to overcome for MVNU as it fell by a final of 73-56.

MVNU shot just 33.9% (21-62) from the field and only 12.5% (2-16) from three-point range.
SAU shot 50.8% (31-61) from the field and 36.4% (4-11) from deep
MVNU forced 19 turnovers which turned into 19 points.
SAU made MVNU pay dearly for their 18 turnovers as they scored 28 points off miscues.
SAU outscored MVNU 26-18 in points in the paint.
