Lady Cougars Improve to 3-0 with Win over Heidelberg

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's basketball team (3-0) had its home opener against Heidelberg University in Ariel Arena on Friday, November 3.

MVNU used a strong fourth quarter to improve to 3-0 on the season. MVNU outscored the guests 22-8 in the final period to secure the 62-50 win.

 

Inside the Box Score:

MVNU had 15 assists to just 10 turnovers in the game. The Lady Cougars forced 15 turnovers on defense.

MVNU held Heidelberg to 28.6% shooting from the field. MVNU shot 39.7% from the field on the night. The Lady Cougars overcame a rough shooting night from three as it shot 1-18 beyond the arc.

Angela Roshak – 13 points and 11 rebounds. Roshak set a new program record with 9 blocks. 

Peyton Davis – 12 points (6-10 FG), 4 steals, 3 assists, 3 rebounds.

Emily Walker – 13 points (6-10 FG, 1-5 3PT), 6 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal.

Madelyn Lawson – 7 points (3-6 FG), 7 rebounds, 1 block.

Noelle Lavery – 7 points (3-11 FG), 6 rebounds, 1 block.

MVNU hosts Lourdes University for homecoming on Friday, November 10. Tip-off is set for 5:00pm.
