Men’s Track and Field Partakes in Kenyon, Jesse Owens Invitationals
GAMBIER, Ohio. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's track and field team competed at the Kenyon Invitational in Gambier, where they finished third with a team score of 138. They also had a few athletes compete at the Jesse Owens Classic in Columbus.
Top Performers at Kenyon Invitational
Zach Jenney placed first in the discus throw with a distance of 44.67m.
Chris Graber took first in the long jump with a mark of 7.10m. Graber also took second in the triple jump with a mark of 12.88m.
Tyler Shipley placed third in the pole vault with a mark of 4.50m.
Noah Stephens placed third in the 1500m run with a time of 4:12.38.
Isaac Ramseyer finished third in the 400m dash with a time of 50.72.
Mason Hendrickson took second in the 800m run with a time of 1:58.98. Stephens finished third with a time of 1:59.34 and Jonathan Backus placed fourth with a time of 2:00.01.
Gage Wilson placed third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 00:59.23 seconds.
The 1600m relay team of Jenney, Ramseyer, Backus, and Hendrickson finished second with a time of 3:35.18.
Top Performers at Jesse Owens Classic
Jaden Haldeman placed seventh in the men's 400m hurdles with an NAIA "B" standard time of 53.89.
The 4x100m relay team of Haldeman, Marcus Whaley, Liam Near, and Bryce Wiles finished fourth with a time of 41.81 seconds.
Micah Tuggle placed 15th in shotput with a "A" standard throw of 15.96m.
Kyler Dickey also hit the "B" standard with a toss of 15.44.

The men's track and field team will next compete on Thursday, April 27 at the Walsh Tune-Up in North Canton, Ohio.
