Men's Track and Field Proves Strong at Knight Open

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The MVNU men's track & field team competed at the Knight Open, hosted by Marian University on Friday, March 31.

 

Top Performers

The team of Marcus Whaley, Jaden Haldeman, Liam Near, and Erich Rhodeback started the day well, taking home fifth in the 4x100m relay with a time of 42.53.

Evan Hodkinson had a great showing in the 1500m to take first overall in a time of 4:03.41.

Hodkinson continued his strong performance in the 800m to finish in second with a time of 1:55.13.

The trio of Rhodeback, Haldeman, and Connor Williams swept the 110m hurdles claiming the top three finishes. Rhodeback led the group with a time of 14.81 to take first. Haldeman was steps behind to finish second with a time of 15.02. Williams rounded out the group with a time of 15.06 to take home third.

Haldeman finished his day taking home third in the 200m with a time of 21.82. Near finished just behind to claim fourth overall in 22.09 seconds. Rhodeback was able to score points for the team as well, finishing seventh in a time of 22.28.

Whaley executed an impressive performance in the 400m hurdles to finish in fourth with a time of 56.92. Gage Wilson finished steps behind to take sixth overall in a time of 1:00.28.

The team of Seth McCloskey, Trent Koning, Kaleb Bosworth, and Wilson wrapped up the running events for the day with a fourth-place finish with a time of 3:27.50.

Chris Graber had a terrific performance in long jump after hitting a mark of 6.57m. Graber claimed third place overall.

Tyler Shipley was able to put together an impressive showing in pole vault to claim fifth after clearing 4.15m.

Zach Jenney placed third in discus with a throw of 45.58m.

Kyler Dickey placed third while throwing unattached in the shotput with a throw of 16.51m.

Micah Tuggle finished fourth in shotput with a throw of 15.13m.

 

What's Next

The MVNU Men's Track & Field Team will be competing in the Tiffin Extravaganza Meet, hosted by Tiffin University on April 14 and 15.
