Track & Field Sweeps Crossroads League Athlete of the Week Honors

JACKSON, Mich. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's and women's indoor track and field teams had four athletes earn Athlete of the Week recognition from the Crossroads League on Monday, January 13.

After kicking off the indoor season at the CapFam Alumni Classic, hosted by Capital University on Friday, January 10, here are the four Athletes of the Week.

The Men's Field Athlete of the Week was Tyler Shipley, who excelled in the pole vault, securing first place with a height of 4.75m, meeting the NAIA B Standard.

Bryce Wiles was named the Men's Track Athlete of the Week after securing first place in the 60m with a time of 6.90 seconds.

Lyssi Snouffer was named the Women's Field Athlete of the Week for her first-place performance in the high jump, clearing 1.65m to meet the NAIA B Standard.

Ellyn Coe earned Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors for her first-place finish in the 800m with a time of 2:26.00. 

MVNU competes in the Muskie Meet, hosted by Muskingum University on Saturday, January 18.
