Bowser and Carrara Earn CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors in Men's Soccer

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. —  CoSIDA unveiled its Academic All-District Team for 2024, with two members of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's soccer team earning recognition.

The 2024 Academic All-District Men's Soccer Team, selected by CoSIDA, highlights the nation's top student-athletes for excelling both on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program honors recipients across four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

Zack Bowser and Caio Carrara earned spots on the NAIA All-District Team, recognizing their exceptional performances both in the classroom and on the field for MVNU.

Forward Zack Bowser earned First-Team honors in the Crossroads League for his exceptional offensive performance this season. The senior led the team with 13 goals and contributed four assists. His 13 goals tied for second in the league, while his 30 total points ranked fourth overall.

Caio Carrara earned Honorable Mention recognition in the Crossroads League for his exceptional defensive contributions for the Cougars.

To qualify for Academic All-District Team men's soccer student-athletes must compete in at least 90 percent of the institution's matches or start in at least 66 percent of them. Undergraduate student-athletes are required to maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale, while graduate student-athletes must also achieve a 3.50 GPA, both as undergraduates and graduate students, unless they are in their first semester of graduate studies without an established graduate GPA. The cumulative GPA must meet the 3.50 threshold exactly, as rounding is not permitted.
