Bio
Ryan Farr was named as the first Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach at MVNU in 2018. In addition to serving as the team’s Head Coach, Farr is specifically responsible for the coordination of the team’s offensive unit. Farr took the reins of the team as a fledgling club program that finished with a record of 4-3 in its first season of existence.
After a 10 win season in 2022, Farr lead his team to a program record 11 wins in 2023. Under Farr, MVNU received its first ever NAIA national ranking, climbing as high as No.8 in the country in 2023.
Prior to MVNU, Farr served as a head coach for 6 seasons at the High School level, compiling a record of 61-20 at Canfield, Uniontown-Lake, and Louisville High Schools. In 2013, Farr led a Canfield team that posted a record of 8-6, hosting a home playoff game in its first season as a program. At Uniontown-Lake, Farr inherited a program that had gone a combined 15-55 in its first 5 years as a team. Farr and his staff quickly turned this around, leading the team to a combined record of 17-9 in two seasons, including a Regional Quarterfinal finish in 2015. In 2016, Farr took the reigns of yet another brand new program in Louisville High School’s girls lacrosse program, leading the team to a record of 36-5 in its first three years of existence. Highlights for this young but quickly competitive program included the school’s first playoff victory (an upset win over Gilmour Academy), the team’s first undefeated season (12-0 in 2017) and the team’s first Regional Quarterfinal Appearance in 2018. During his High School career, Farr coached 10 All-Region Players, 4 All-State Players, and 2 Division Players of the Year at Goalie and Face-off Midfield
As a player, Farr was a two-way midfielder at Malone University during the team’s run as a club program from 2008-2010, serving as team captain. In addition to playing club lacrosse, Farr was the member of the Varsity football program at Malone as a WR/S where he lettered 3 years and earned the Team’s Leadership Award in his final season.
Farr graduated from Malone University with a degree in Youth and Sports Ministry, double minoring in Art and Communication. Farr currently lives in Mount Vernon with his wife Rachel and their three sons; Colton, Mason and Easton.
