Men’s Lacrosse Readies for 2025 Season
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's lacrosse team will kick off its 2025 season on Saturday, February 1, at CH4 Stadium, facing the Hiram College Terriers at 1:00 p.m. for the opening faceoff.
After competing in the Heart of America Conference for the past two seasons, the Cougars will return to being an independent program. MVNU will face four key matchups against teams from the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC): Taylor, Lawrence Tech, Siena Heights, and Michigan-Dearborn, along with additional NAIA matchups against St. Andrews (NC) and Midland. The other scheduled games the Cougars will play will be against NCAA Division III lacrosse programs.
Coach Ryan Farr's team ended last season with a record of 8-5 and 2-3 in the Heart.
Farr has an impressive senior class of eight players: Blaine Hergenrother, Bryce Morningstar, Edward Burcham, Gabe Wolf, Kaden Tinner, Preston Barnes, Ryan LaAsmar, and Tyler Dickerson. Their leadership will be crucial for guiding a youthful team consisting of eleven freshmen players. The Cougars will aim to start the season strong, just as they did in 2024 when they began with a 5-0 record.
