Bowling Hits Lanes in WHAC Classic

ALLEN PARK, Mich. The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's and women's bowling teams competed in the WHAC Greater Detroit Classic on Saturday, February 3.

Both of MVNU's teams placed 11th out of 12 teams. The men had a total tally of 6292 and the women had a score of 5891 to end the day. Lawrence Tech won the classic on the men's side while Concordia claimed first for the women.

Jacob Burre continued to lead the men as he placed 48th overall in a strong field of competitors. Burre finished with a score of 772 and rolled an average of 193. Christian Phillips placed behind Burre for MVNU, finishing 83rd with a score of 560 and average of 186.7.

Hannah Vaughn was sensational for MVNU as she placed second overall with a score of 866 and an average of 216.5. Ashleigh Westervelt placed 39th overall out of 106 bowlers with a score of 700 and an average of 175 across four games.
