Bowling Competes at Crossroads League Tournament No.3

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University bowling teams competed in the third Crossroads League Bowling Tournament of the season on Saturday, January 27 at All Star Bowl in Indianapolis.

 

The men and women each finished fifth at the event with scores of 6131 and 5823, respectively. Spring Arbor University won the tournament on both sides.

The women's team saw senior Hannah Vaughn and sophomore Ashley Westervelt tie for third place with a score of 766. This marks the first time that the women's program has had two make the Crossroads League All-Tournament Team. The score for Westervelt was a new personal best for a series. Along with this history, the women's team also rolled a school record team game score of 976.

The men were led by Justin Brown who rolled a 761 to the tune of a 190.3 average. This placed Brown at 14th overall. Tim Burrows placed 25th overall with a total of 693 and average of 173.8. James Blaney rounded out MVNU's top three with a 36th place finish and score of 624 for a 156 average on the day.

MVNU bowling competes in the WHAC Bowling Tournament in Allen Park, Michigan on Saturday, February 3.
