
Balanced Scoring Attack Leads to Victory at Cal Maritime
VALLEJO, Calif. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's basketball team (7-5) picked up an 88-67 win out west at Cal Maritime (3-6) on Saturday, December 14.
MVNU's offensive attack was potent from the start and led to 55% shooting from the floor and 9-16 (56%) shooting from deep in the first half. The Cougars fell just short of a 50 point half, entering the break up 47-27 on the hosts.
While the three-ball didn't fall with the same efficiency in the second half, MVNU remained hot from the field as a whole and remained in control throughout the remainder of the game. Six Cougars scored in double-figures in an excellent, well-balanced offensive attack in the win.

MVNU shot 50.1% from the field and made 13 threes at a 41.9% clip. Cal Maritime shot 40% from the floor and 30.8% (8-26) from deep.
MVNU shared the basketball at a high rate, finishing with 21 assists to just 13 turnovers.
