MVNU Tops Ohio Christian on the Road

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's basketball team (6-1,1-1) went on the road for a non-conference game at Ohio Christian University (3-6,0-0) on Wednesday, November 29.

After controlling much of the first half as it led 48-39 at the break, MVNU pulled through to earn itself a hard-fought win on the road. The Trailblazers tested the Cougars in the second half as they pulled to within one point to make it 73-72, MVNU. The Cougars responded by closing the game on a 14-10 run to win by a final of 87-82.

 

Inside the Box Score:

MVNU shot 50.9% from the floor (27-53) and converted 37.5% (9-24) of its threes on the night.

Ohio Christian to shot 48.2% from the floor (27-56) and 41.4% (12-29) from the three-point line.

MVNU forced 16 turnovers against Ohio Christian that led to 16 points.

MVNU got to the free throw line often and converted at a 77.4% (24-31) rate.

MVNU will be back in action for a conference game at Goshen College on Saturday, December 2. Tipoff is at 3:00pm.
