Men’s Basketball Begins Homecoming Classic with Route of Harris-Stowe

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's basketball team (3-0) hosted Harris-Stowe State (1-5) on Friday, November 10 on the first day of the MVNU Homecoming Classic inside of Ariel Arena.

MVNU took care of business on its home floor as it defeated the guests by a final of 95-69.

   

Inside the Box Score: 

MVNU shot 54.3% from the field and 26.7% from three. Harris-Stowe shot 50.9% from the floor and 33.3% from deep.

MVNU had 22 assists to only 11 turnovers on the night. The team forced 20 turnovers on defense.

The Cougars won the battle on the boards 34-28.

Kade Ruegsegger – 20 points (8-15 FG), 5 assists, 3 rebounds

Trent Koning – 19 points (6-10 FG, 3-6 3PT), 2 steals, 1 assist. 

Beau Ludwick – 17 points (8-13 FG), 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist.

Carter Pline – 12 points (4-6 FG, 1-1 3PT, 3-5 FT), 9 rebounds, 3 assist.

Bailey Conrad – 9 points (4-8 FG, 1-3 3PT), 3 assists, 3 steals, 2 rebounds.

What's Next:

MVNU plays at home against Washington Adventist on Saturday, November 11. Tipoff is set for 6:00pm.
