MVNU Rocket League Advances to Semifinals in NECC Playoffs

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University Rocket League team began their playoff run in the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) on Thursday, November 14.

MVNU (4) took on Missouri University of Science and Technology (5) in the quarterfinals. The Cougars started game one off strong with a (4-1) victory. MVNU continued their dominance with a (6-2) win in game two. In game three, the first goal was not scored until the last 57 seconds of the match, where MVNU took the lead, but would finish out strongly with a (2-0) victory.

MVNU moves onto Semifinals with a (3-0) series count, continuing their playoff run after impressive play from all three Cougars.

 

Inside the Box Score:

MVNU held the offensive with a total of 33 shots, 13 of which scored.

In games one and two, the Cougars scored within the first minute, giving them the upper-hand early on in the match.

What's Next:

MVNU advances to the semifinals of the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) playoffs with a match against (MVC) Moreno Valley College at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21. The match can be watched on MVNU's Twitch channel or in person at Foster Hall.
