Competitive Cheer Places Third at Spring Arbor

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University competitive cheerleading team began its season on Saturday, January 20 at Spring Arbor University.

 

MVNU started 2024 with a third-place finish with a score of 71.97. Below are the complete totals.

1. Spring Arbor – 73.17

2. Madonna – 72.48

3. MVNU – 71.97

4. Point Park – 60.7

5. Huntington – 55.33

 

Coach Nowicki's Thoughts:

"I'm thrilled with how we performed today. This is a great start to our season, and I'm excited about how close our score was to the top two teams. Jumps was our highest scoring category followed by pyramid. We also had high scores in choreography and showmanship which I'm really proud of."

 

What's Next:

MVNU will next compete at Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan on Saturday, January 27.
