MVNU held a 3-2 lead heading into bottom of the sixth, but Concordia sparked a comeback, scoring twice in the inning to take the lead for good. Rider Minnick batted in two runs on the day, while Johnny Nixon led MVNU with a pair of hits.

The Cougars fell in game two to Valley City 2-5. With the ballgame tied 1-1 after two innings, Valley City scored three runs in the third and one more in the fifth to seal the game. MVNU did get a run in the seventh thanks to a Blaine Keener sac-fly, but it would not be enough to extend the game any further.
