MVNU has 13 NAIA Winter Scholar Athletes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The NAIA announced its winter sport Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the sports of basketball and bowling. Mount Vernon Nazarene University had 13 athletes receive honors.

Hannah Vaughn (SR), Ashleigh Westervelt (SO) and Abigail Larkin (SO) was among 155 women's bowling student-athletes from around the country honored for their achievements in the classroom.

Jake Burre (SO) and Bryce Rinehart (JR) were among 147 total men's student-athletes honored in bowling.

Angela Roshak (JR), Emily Walker (JR), Hannah Logan (SO), Katie Sprang (JR), Madelyn Lawson (JR), and Peyton Davis (SR) were among 887 women's basketball student-athletes from around the country honored for their achievements in the classroom.

Kade Ruegsegger (SR) and Trent Koning (SO) were among 572 men's basketball student-athletes from around the country honored for their achievements in the classroom.

To be eligible for an NAIA Scholar-Athlete award, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale while attending one full year at their current institution.
