Cougars Women's Lacrosse Looks Ahead to Promising Spring 2025 Season

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. - With the spring 2025 season fast approaching, the MVNU Women's Lacrosse team is ready to build on its growing success.

Key returners include junior standout Jessie Kyer, who was a leader on offense last year, and sophomore phenom Liberty Pennington, a key offensive catalyst. Other contributors include the Ntia sisters—sophomores Zoe Ntia and Zay Ntia—who will once again anchor a tenacious midline. Their leadership will be bolstered by an exciting incoming class, featuring Keely Stasiowski (Wooster HS), Alison Vaulx (Buckeye Valley), and Kyleigh Rentsch (Hilliard Bradley), all of whom bring strong high school resumes and promise for the future.

The Cougars are riding momentum from a successful fall season, during which they finished 3-2. Highlights included a thrilling 9-8 victory over rival Taylor, as well as wins against Duquesne (7-5) and Bowling Green (8-5). Their only setbacks came in a narrow 7-6 loss to Kent State and a hard-fought game against Malone while missing some key players. With their eyes set on spring, the Cougars are gearing up for a challenging start to the season. They'll open on February 15th at CH4 Stadium in Mount Vernon with a Tri-Match against familiar foes Slippery Rock, Bowling Green, and Kent State. With a mix of veteran leadership, talented newcomers, and a hunger for continued success, the 2025 season promises to be an exciting chapter for MVNU Women's Lacrosse.
