Lady Cougars Fall to Grace

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio– The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's basketball team (7-12, 1-8) fell to Grace College (Ind.) (10-8, 5-3) on Saturday, January 20 in Ariel Arena.

After outscoring the Lancers 17-12 in the first quarter, the Lady Cougars struggled by shooting a combined 4-24 in the next two quarters. In the end, the Lady Cougars lost 50-41.

 

Inside the Box Score:

MVNU shot 29.1% (16-55) from the field and 26.3% (5-19) from three-point range.

Grace shot 38.8% (19-49) from the field and 33.3% (4-12) from three-point range.

MVNU had 14 turnovers which led to 10 points for Grace.

Grace outscored MVNU 24-20 in the paint.

Katie Sprang – 13 points (5-12 FG, 3-6 3PT), 7 rebounds, 1 steal.

Angela Roshak – 8 points (3-11 FG), 7 rebounds, 3 blocks, 3 assists, 2 steals.

Peyton Davis – 7 points (3-6 FG, 0-1 3PT), 4 steals, 1 rebound.

Emily Walker – 6 points (2-5 FG, 2-4 3PT), 8 assists, 3 rebounds.

Women's Basketball will play on Saturday, January 27 at (RV) Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, Michigan. Tipoff is set for 1:00 pm.
