No.21 Indiana South Bend Too Much for Lady Cougars

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio.  The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's basketball team (5-6, 0-3) fell to No.21 Indiana South Bend (12-0) at Ariel Arena on Monday, December 18.

The Titans entered the game with a perfect 11-0 record and as the third opponent that MVNU has faced in the NAIA Coaches' poll already this season. The Lady Cougars started slow, which resulted in them going into halftime down 46 to 29. MVNU came to life in the third quarter, outscoring Indiana South Bend 23-15. MVNU cut the Titan lead to just 55-52 near the end of the third, but ultimately the guests regained momentum as they closed the game on a 27-11 run. MVNU fell by a final score of 63-82.

MVNU now heads to University Park, Illinois. The Lady Cougars will compete in the Governors State Winter Classic where they will play on Thursday, December 28 at 4:00pm against Governors State and on Friday, December 29 at 2:00pm against Missouri Baptist.
