GAMBIER, Ohio. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's basketball team (1-0) opened the 2023-24 season on the road at Kenyon College on Thursday, October 26.
MVNU controlled the game from the start as it never trailed once. MVNU entered halftime with a 31-20 lead. The defense continued to stifle Kenyon in the second half as MVNU allowed just 18 points. The dominant defensive showing propelled MVNU to a 63-38 win on opening night.

MVNU shot 42.1% from the floor while also holding Kenyon to just 24.1% shooting and 7.7% shooting from three. MVNU forced 15 turnovers and finished the game with just 11 of its own.
