Men’s Volleyball Suffers Four-Set Defeat to Saints in Ariel

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. —  The Mount Vernon Nazarene men's volleyball team (1-7, 0-3 WHAC) was back in Ariel Arena on Friday, February 14, for a WHAC conference matchup against Siena Heights University (4-4, 1-1 WHAC).

MVNU came out strong, securing the first set 25-15, but Siena Heights took control, winning the next three sets 25-18, 25-18, and 25-20 to clinch the victory.

Jackson Bush led the team with 12 kills on 24 attempts, hitting .208, while also contributing two service aces and two blocks. Ethan Cline followed closely with 11 kills on 26 attempts and added four digs. Christian Kyer made a significant impact from the service line, recording a team-best seven aces while also contributing a block.

Tyler Shields played a crucial role as the primary setter, dishing out 29 assists while also adding three kills, one service ace, and two digs. Noah Wineberg was highly efficient, posting a .286 hitting percentage with four kills on seven attempts while adding three blocks.

 

What's Next

Men's volleyball is set for another WHAC home matchup at Ariel Arena against the Lourdes University Gray Wolves on Saturday, February 15, with the first serve at 5:00 p.m.
